Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how NewsPulse (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at getnewspulse.com and the NewsPulse Android app that displays that website.
Effective date: May 25, 2026
Scope
The NewsPulse Android app is a client that loads our website inside a web view. Unless we state otherwise below, the same practices apply whether you visit https://getnewspulse.com in a browser or through the app.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Google sign-in (optional). If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We use this only to identify your account and display your profile in the app.
- Favorites. If you are signed in, we store the stories you save to your favorites list, linked to your account.
- Contact. If you email us, we receive the information you include in your message.
Information collected automatically
- Session and authentication data. When you sign in, we use session cookies and server-side session records to keep you logged in and secure your account.
- Local preferences. We store your light/dark theme choice in your browser’s or app web view’s local storage.
- Usage analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to collect aggregated, privacy-oriented metrics such as page views and general traffic patterns. We do not use this service to build advertising profiles.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider may log standard technical information when you request pages, such as IP address, browser or app user agent, requested URL, and timestamp. We use these logs for security, troubleshooting, and service reliability.
- Search queries. When you use site search, your query is processed to return results on https://getnewspulse.com.
Information we do not collect
- We do not require an account to read news on NewsPulse.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not intentionally collect precise location data, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or payment card details through the website or app wrapper described here.
How we use information
We use the information above to:

How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run NewsPulse, including:
- Google — for optional Google sign-in authentication;

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies for authentication sessions and local storage for theme preferences. You can control cookies through your browser or device settings, but disabling session cookies will prevent you from staying signed in.
Data retention
We keep account information and favorites for as long as your account remains active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove or anonymize associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain information for legal, security, or backup purposes.
