Israeli Strikes Kill Children in Lebanon Despite Ceasefire Agreement

Israeli military operations continue in Lebanon with multiple strikes killing civilians, including at least 59 children wounded or killed over the past week, despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire that was supposed to take effect in April.

Recent Attacks

A double-tap Israeli strike killed two men and damaged three ambulances in Lebanon on May 15, according to Lebanon's National News Agency. The strike followed an overnight bombing that killed four people in the town of Harouf.

Civilian Casualties

UNICEF reports at least 59 children in Lebanon have been killed or wounded by Israeli strikes over the past week alone, despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire that was supposed to have taken effect in April.

Ongoing Negotiations

Lebanese and Israeli officials began a third round of U.S.-brokered direct talks in Washington on Thursday, though Hezbollah is not participating in the negotiations.

Jerusalem March

Meanwhile in Jerusalem, Israeli nationalists chanted "Death to Arabs" during a state-sponsored march near the Damascus Gate in the Old City to mark the 59th anniversary of Israel's capture and annexation of East Jerusalem.
